District 4 Labs (“District 4” or “D4”) is a cutting-edge data business dedicated to building the open-source intelligence (OSINT) tools and technologies of tomorrow. Its flagship product, DARKSIDE, is one of the world’s largest repositories of breached data, compromised records, and other person of interest information. DARKSIDE was built by investigators for investigators and is critical for any online investigation or intelligence gathering exercise, especially those involving attribution and online account identification.
POSITION SUMMARY
Interns will work part-time with our engineering and development teams to improve functionality of our user interface; parse deep and dark web data; and support other ongoing projects at the cutting edge of OSINT. Intern schedules are flexible and will be discussed as part of the interview process, but will generally involve at least eight (8) hours of work per week.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - INTELLIGENCE
Intelligence Interns will generally:
• Help District 4’s intelligence team identify and parse new deep and dark web data sets ahead of addition to DARKSIDE.
• Work with the intelligence and marketing teams to create blogs, white papers, and other content for publication on District 4’s LinkedIn channel and other partner platforms.
• Have familiarity with open-source intelligence (OSINT) and/or dark web intelligence collection and/or processes.
• Demonstrate past education and/or work experience within the OSINT space, particularly in the areas of CTI and dark web intelligence.
• Possess strong programming skills in Python
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS - SOFTWARE ENGINEERING
Software Engineering Interns will generally:
• Help District 4’s developers parse new deep and dark web data sets ahead of addition to DARKSIDE.
• Work with client-facing team members to understand customer requirements and translate them into technical specifications for enhancements.
• Support leadership in improving current web application functionality and building new features.
• Have familiarity with open-source intelligence (OSINT) and/or dark web intelligence collection and/or processes.
• Past education and/or work experience with web application development, API development, and search applications.
• Strong programming skills in Python
