Reporting to the Senior Director – Development, the Intern – Development is responsible for supporting development activities and acquisitions of renewable energy projects throughout Canada, with a primary focus on wind, solar, and battery storage projects in Western Canada. They will be responsible for supporting the development of renewable energy projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and meet all relevant regulatory requirements. They will be involved in all stages of project development, from early-stage inception, through handover to the construction team, and ultimately to the COD, to ensure the successful completion of projects from start to finish. Your day-to-day! • Conduct market research and identify and pursue new renewable energy project opportunities. • Analyze the feasibility of proposed renewable energy projects, including site suitability, resource assessments, permitting requirements, and economic viability. • Collaborate with internal teams and outside consultants, to coordinate the implementation of all aspects of project development, including land acquisition, resource analysis, environmental studies, permitting, stakeholder engagement, interconnection and transmission, regulatory, legal, engineering and design, and financial modeling. • Support relationships with key stakeholders, including local communities, Indigenous partners, government agencies, and industry associations. • Support management of project timelines and budgets. • Support monitoring and reporting on project progress. Your skills, our requirements! • Excellent project management and problem-solving skills. • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. • Strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct feasibility studies. • Knowledge of and interest in renewable energy technologies and the renewable energy market. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent. • Current student or recent graduate (less than 1 year of experience). • Experience in the development of renewable energy projects in Canada preferred. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project, PowerPoint). • Available for domestic travel about 10% of the time. Additional considerations! • The position can be based in the company's Longueuil (Quebec) headquarters, Vancouver (BC) office. • This position is a SA01 (Intern) level. Pay Transparency Statement Compensation for roles at Innergex varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, education, and level of experience. We believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. In the spirit of pay transparency, we’re pleased to share that the base hourly rate for this position is $24 to $29, exclusive of fringe benefits or potential bonuses. If you are hired by Innergex, your final base salary compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, education, and/or experience. In addition to those factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as a part of any final offer. Please keep in mind that the range mentioned above is the full base salary range for the role. Hiring at the maximum of the range would not be typical in order to allow for future and continued salary growth.
