Read more about NIE here. NIE invites applications for Higher Technical Specialist (IT) position in the Physical Education & Sports Science (PESS) Department. This is a 2-year contract position. Responsibilities IT Specialist Support the Academic Department (AD) in all Information Communication Technology (ICT) needs, e.g., propose new equipment and technologies to support teaching and learning, operations of ICT equipment at all our facilities, assist faculty staff in the video recording of lessons both in campus and other venues such as in schools, assist faculty with their online lessons via Zoom or MS Teams, etc. Support the AD in streamlining work processes by leveraging technology and automation (e.g., digital forms and workflow tools) to enhance efficiency and ensure smoother operational workflow. Operations of the integrated multi-camera video streaming and acquisition system in the multi-purpose hall, e.g., assist with the operations of the system, suggest innovative methods of recording and storage of video footages, assist with developing video footages for structured teaching and learning resource, regular maintenance and upgrade of system. Provide training to faculty on the usage of ICT hardware and software, e.g., conduct workshops on latest ICT equipment and technologies, coordinate sharing sessions with other IT departments in NIE, provide training to new staff on usage of ICT equipment and technologies. Assist in the planning, development, and review of the annual operating budget and strategic resources to meet rapidly changing ICT needs. Assist in the procurement of ICT equipment and technologies that have been budgeted. Developing publicity materials, e.g., photography and videography for AD events, production of videos and other publicity materials highlighting PESS’ strengths, etc. Assist in ICT support for AD events, e.g., assist with conduct of hybrid symposia and conferences via live streaming on Facebook, Zoom, Teams, etc. Assist in day-to-day operations and fixing minor technical glitches in the audio-visual (AV) systems at our facilities. Maintenance and upkeep of ICT equipment and maintain inventory of equipment that are on loan. Assist with software installation and updates in staff notebooks for various PE and sports-specific teaching related Audio-Visual items (hardware and software) procured by the AD (e.g., smartscreens, lab equipment). Willing to attend ICT workshops and courses for developing technical knowledge and skills. Requirements A Polytechnic Diploma in IT/multimedia or other relevant qualifications. Relevant ICT experience (e.g., operation and maintenance of ICT equipment, photography, video recording, video editing and post-production, familiarity with Zoom and MS Teams, etc.). Good knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes. Proficient in using digital tools and automation (e.g., online forms and workflow applications) to streamline processes and improve work efficiency.
