Role: Hadoop Administrator
Location: Chicago, IL / Charlotte, NC
Work Schedule: Hybrid (3 days onsite)

Mission:
We are seeking a Hadoop Administrator to support our NextGen Platforms built on Big Data technologies. This role will focus on platform modernization and consolidation across Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, and containerized environments.
Key Responsibilities:
Work on complex and high-visibility initiatives across multiple projects.
Provide subject matter expertise in Hadoop and Data Science platform operations, including Cloudera Hadoop, Jupyter Notebook, OpenShift, and Docker container environments.
Manage platform operations across all environments: upgrades, deployments, bug fixes, monitoring, forecasting, and disaster recovery.
Act as a liaison between client partners, vendors, and project managers to deliver technical solutions.
Support platforms built on Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Docker/Podman, and Jupyter Notebook.
Maintain and support AI/ML platforms such as Cloudera, DataRobot, C3 AI, Talend, Trifacta, ELK, and related tools.
Own incident response, problem management, capacity planning, and system reliability.
Automate platform operations using Ansible, Shell scripting, and Python.
Collaborate with development teams in an agile environment.
Required Skills:
Strong expertise in Hadoop architecture, HDFS, and Hadoop cluster administration.
Hands-on experience with AD/Kerberos authentication integration.
Expertise in Cloudera Hadoop components: HDFS, Sentry, HBase, Kafka, Impala, SOLR, Hue, Spark, Hive, YARN, Zookeeper, and Postgres.
Experience with cluster configuration optimization, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Shell, Ansible).
Experience with monitoring, alerting, and job scheduling systems.
Working knowledge of SQL, Cassandra, and Postgres databases.
Strong Unix and SQL scripting skills.
Experience working in agile development environments.
