West Monroe is seeking an experienced GCP Platform Lead with a strong background in Agentic AI, Software Engineering, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services to drive the design, delivery, and management of scalable, AI-enabled platforms in New York City. This role will oversee end-to-end platform engineering, lead the CREATe process (Collaborative Requirements Engineering and Agile Testing), and ensure seamless coordination with stakeholders to ensure timely and high-quality progress of deliverables.
Key Responsibilities
Platform Design & Delivery
• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of scalable, secure, and reliable platforms on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to support AI-driven applications.
• Partner with existing teams focused on the data platform and foundation layer to ensure integration patterns and scalable architecture decisions.
• Drive the integration of Agentic AI technologies into platform solutions to enable adaptive, autonomous, and intelligent systems.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure adherence to best practices in software development, DevOps, and cloud-native design.
• Develop and maintain platform roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business objectives and emerging technologies.
CREATe Process Management
• Oversee the Collaborative Requirements Engineering and Agile Testing (CREATe) process to ensure effective and efficient requirements gathering, testing, and delivery.
• Facilitate cross-functional workshops to define platform requirements and align on delivery priorities.
• Establish clear processes for iterative development, testing, and feedback to ensure quality outcomes.
Stakeholder Coordination & Delivery Oversight
• Act as the primary liaison between technical teams, business stakeholders, and leadership to align on priorities and expectations.
• Lead project planning and delivery timelines, ensuring milestones are met and blockers are addressed promptly.
• Provide regular updates to stakeholders on progress, risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Foster collaboration across teams, ensuring alignment on goals and deliverables.
Technical Leadership & Innovation
• Stay up-to-date with advancements in Agentic AI, GCP services, and software engineering practices to drive innovation.
• Mentor and guide engineering teams on best practices in AI, cloud architecture, and software development.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement, leveraging feedback to optimize platform performance and delivery processes.
Qualifications
Technical Expertise
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Strong experience with core GCP services (e.g., Compute Engine, BigQuery, Cloud Functions, AI/ML APIs, Kubernetes Engine)
• Google Cloud Platform (GCP): Strong experience with IAM, security & compliance services (e.g., cloud armor) as it relates to landing zone patterns & scaling projects & services.
• Agentic AI: Deep understanding of AI systems with autonomous and adaptive capabilities, including their design, training, and deployment.
• Software Engineering: Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Go) and frameworks for scalable application development.
• DevOps & CI/CD: Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Build).
• Data Engineering: Familiarity with data pipelines, ETL processes, and real-time data streaming on GCP.
Leadership & Delivery
• Proven experience in leading platform design and delivery for enterprise-scale systems.
• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience managing iterative delivery processes.
• Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams and ensuring alignment across technical and business stakeholders.
Nice to have
• Google Cloud certifications (e.g., Professional Cloud Architect, Professional Data Engineer, or Professional Machine Learning Engineer).
• Experience with MLOps and AI/ML lifecycle management on GCP.
• Familiarity with ethical AI practices and governance frameworks.
• Prior experience in leading CREATe or similar collaborative engineering/enterprise architecture processes.
Based on pay transparency guidelines, the salary range for this role can vary based on your proximity to one of our West Monroe offices (see table below). Individual salaries are determined by evaluating a variety of factors including geography, experience, skills, education, and internal equity.
