Founding Forward Deployed Engineer (German Speaking) | 9/9/6 San Francisco
A fast-growing startup building AI agents that automate complex operational decision-making in manufacturing is seeking a Founding Forward Deployed Engineer to join its early team.
This role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, and customer success, with significant influence over how the product is shaped, deployed, and scaled across global customers.
What they will do:
• Work directly with customers to deeply understand operational workflows and pain points, then design and build effective solutions
• Translate deployment learnings into scalable product features and repeatable processes, moving the company from bespoke implementations to standardized systems
• Own customer deployments end to end, navigating IT organizations, aligning executive stakeholders, and training teams across Germany, the EU, and the US (up to ~30% travel)
• Partner closely with the founders to shape product strategy and execution

• A natural product builder who can turn messy, real-world operational problems into simple, elegant solutions
• A fast learner with strong listening skills and exceptional attention to detail
• Fluency in both German and English (customers span Germany, the EU, and San Francisco)
