Equity C# / CPP Developer (1 yr contract)
A leading global investment bank is seeking an Equity C# / CPP Developer for a one-year contract in Hong Kong. Responsibilities
• Build and support front-office trading systems in Hong Kong and across APAC by delivering high-performance solutions, partnering closely with business stakeholders, and driving platform modernisation and innovation.
• Design and enhance trading tools, pricing engines, risk systems, and APIs to support front office operations with minimal downtime
• Collaborate with trading desks, sales teams, and global development teams in Paris, London, New York, and Singapore to deliver robust technical solutions aligned with business needs
• Provide dependable support for critical applications while driving platform modernisation through microservices and API-first architecture
• Adopt cloud-native technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), and DevOps practices to improve efficiency
• Integrate data analytics, AI/ML, and automation into workflows to support the bank’s digital transformation initiatives
Candidate profile
Experienced software engineer with strong backend expertise, capital markets exposure, and a proven ability to deliver scalable, cloud-native solutions in high-pressure environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, with 5+ years’ experience in C++/C# and/or Java development within capital markets or similarly demanding environments
• Advanced proficiency in C++/C# and/or Java for backend systems and web service APIs, with solid software engineering fundamentals
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, alerting, and production (RTB) support
• Strong delivery mindset with experience in Agile and DevOps, plus a track record of driving innovation, including AI/ML adoption in development processes
• Self-driven, accountable, and resilient professional with excellent English communication skills (Cantonese, Mandarin, and/or French a plus but not mandatory) and the ability to perform under pressure using tools such as GitLab, JIRA, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD technologies
