About the Opportunity Recfront is partnering with Canada's leading digital health and longevity platform to hire a strategic Engineering Lead & Architect. Our client serves tens of thousands of members by blending diagnostics, personalized treatment, and digital innovation to help people live healthier, longer lives.
As they scale their digital experience, they are seeking a hands-on Engineering Leader to guide their development and platform teams into the next phase of growth. This role is ideal for a leader who balances architectural strategy with operational rigour—someone ready to align people, process, and technology to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing software.
What You’ll Do
• Engineering Leadership: Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team (Full-stack, DevOps, Platform), fostering a culture of ownership, craftsmanship, and continuous improvement.
• Technical Strategy: Partner directly with the CIO and product leadership to set technical direction. Guide architectural decisions that ensure security, scalability, and maintainability across frontend, backend, and data layers.
• Delivery Excellence: Optimize engineering workflows for flow efficiency. Establish KPIs (cycle time, deployment frequency) to ensure consistent delivery of high-quality software.
• Platform & Security: Oversee cloud infrastructure and reliability. Champion secure development practices (DevSecOps) and ensure robust CI/CD pipelines and incident management.
What You Bring
• Experience: 8–12+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3+ years in a senior engineering leadership role.
• Cloud Native: Proven ability to lead teams building modern, cloud-based software products.
• Architecture: Strong architectural thinking across the full stack (Frontend, Backend, Data, Platform).
• Leadership Style: A pragmatic leader who balances speed, quality, and security. You are capable of aligning engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders.
• Process: Deep experience guiding teams through continuous delivery or flow-based development models.
Nice to Have
• Experience in digital health, insurance tech, or highly regulated industries.
• Background working with AI/ML teams or integrating data-driven features.
• Familiarity with secure coding principles and platform hardening.
