Zaber is seeking a curious and motivated Electronics Engineer to design, validate, and improve crucial building blocks for our precision positioning products. You will support Zaber's goal of creating flexible, affordable, and irresistibly useful automation technologies by designing hardware that balances high performance, robustness, cost, and versatility. You’ll join a supportive and collaborative Electronics team that works closely with Firmware, Mechanical, and Software engineers to solve diverse design challenges. We primarily develop PCBs for user-friendly motion controllers and precision sensors. But, depending on the project, you may have the opportunity to apply broader electrical engineering and physics skills. Zaber designs and manufactures precision positioning devices and motion control systems that are used worldwide for scientific, industrial, and automation applications. As part of our engineering team, you’ll contribute directly to product innovation and help improve performance, reliability, and manufacturability across our product lines. As an Electronics Engineer, you will: • Design new circuit boards, from prototyping new ideas to detailed design, schematic creation, PCB layout and board-level testing. • Support our team's continuous improvement efforts by revising existing boards with fixes and new features. • Contribute to design reviews and collaborate with teammates to improve designs. • Support regulatory EMC compliance efforts, including working with external test labs. • Write scripts for automated testing and validation. • Have opportunities to work on adjacent topics such as motor design and magnetics simulations. You’re the ideal Electronics Engineer if you have: • A degree in Electrical Engineering or Engineering Physics (or equivalent experience) and some hands-on exposure to real-world circuit design. • Experience in PCB design and schematic capture using KiCad or similar EDA software, including circuit analysis and simulation. • Working knowledge of microcontrollers and embedded systems, including programming or scripting for test automation. • Hands-on experience with soldering and board bring-up to move designs from concept to functional prototypes. • Proficiency with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and programmable power supplies. You’d be a great fit for our Electronics Engineer role if you enjoy: • Learning through design projects, coursework, student teams, personal projects, or professional experience. • Understanding how and why a circuit works. • Getting things to work, and learning from the times that they don't. • Digging into problems to understand the root cause. Electronics Engineer Details: • The starting wage for the role is $35 - $53/hour, depending on experience. • Type: Full-time, Permanent. • Experience level: Junior/Intermediate. • Selected Benefits: PHSP (health, dental & vision), Stock Options & Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Flexible Schedule, Paid Time Off, Casual Dress, Commuter Benefits, EAP. • Team: Electrical Engineering.
