About the role:
• Product leadership: Utilize data to navigate the product and business landscape, pinpointing new opportunities and challenges, while guiding product development that enhances the value we provide to users and businesses.
• Analytics: Lead product teams by offering data-driven insights, developing hypotheses, and employing a comprehensive suite of analytical methodologies and frameworks to validate them.
• Communication and influence: Go beyond presenting data by crafting compelling data stories. Persuade key stakeholders with clear insights and actionable recommendations.
• People leadership: Inspire and cultivate a high-performing team of data scientists, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
Responsibilities:
• Lead a team of data scientists to formulate strategies for our global products that impact countless users and businesses.
• Drive analytics projects from inception to completion in partnership with Product, Engineering, and other teams to inform and execute product strategies.
• Influence product direction through impactful presentations to leadership.
• Work with extensive and complex datasets to tackle challenging problems using diverse analytical and statistical techniques.
• Measure the success of product initiatives through goal setting, forecasting, and monitoring key performance metrics.
• Identify improvement opportunities and drive product roadmaps via data-driven insights and recommendations.
• Participate in advancing the Data Science discipline at Meta by fostering best practices, enhancing analytical processes, and mentoring team members.
Minimum Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, completed prior to joining Meta.
• A minimum of 4 years of experience in applied analytics (2+ years with a Ph.D.), including at least 2 years of managing analytics teams.
• Proficiency in data querying languages (e.g., SQL), scripting languages (e.g., Python), and statistical software (e.g., R).
• Experience leading analytical projects independently.
• Successfully communicated analytical results to senior leadership.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master’s or Ph.D. in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Experience in technology, consulting, or finance sectors.
• Demonstrated success in leading high-performance analytics teams.
Public Compensation:
$173,000/year to $242,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
