Responsibilities
• Develop the digital workplace technology strategy aligned to business and IT goals
• Define reference architectures, blueprints, and patterns for collaboration, endpoint management, identity, and end-user services
• Lead platform modernization initiatives (M365, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, DEX, AI copilots)
• Architect secure and scalable solutions across the workplace stack: productivity suites, intranet, endpoint, mobility, identity, and communications platforms
• Define integration patterns between M365, HRIS, ServiceNow, identity platforms, and business applications
• Establish governance, lifecycle, and configuration standards
• Ensure seamless and intuitive experiences across devices, applications, and workflows
• Partner with cybersecurity teams to embed conditional access, security baselines, DLP, encryption, Zero Trust, and compliance requirements
• Provide architectural leadership to engineering teams, product managers, and business stakeholders
• Review solution designs and ensure alignment to standards
• Act as an internal consultant for workplace technologies and emerging trends (AI, automation, knowledge mining)
• Support service owners with capacity planning, reliability patterns, and platform optimization
• Evaluate new tools and vendors; perform proof-of-concepts and technical assessments
Skills
• 10+ years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years specializing digital workplace architecture on an enterprise-level to create an ecosystem across M365 stack, endpoint/mobility, identity and access, collaboration/messaging, DEX, and automation disciplines
• Deep Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in the Microsoft 365 stack: Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Exchange Online, Viva, Intune, Purview, plus familiarity with other collaboration or SaaS platforms
• Strong understanding of device lifecycle management and endpoint platforms
• Solid grounding in identity and access principles across Entra ID and comparable IAM platforms, including GPOs
• Experience integrating workplace platforms using APIs, connectors, or workflow automation tools
• Knowledge in Windows Server and Windows 10/11 operating systems
• Solid understanding of networking concepts related to VDI (latency, bandwidth, load balancing, firewalls, and protocols like RDP, HDX, PCoIP)
• Strong ability to mentor and train junior engineers and document complex architectures for operational handover
• Enterprise-level stakeholder management and collaborative spirit with the ability to lead cross-functional design workshops
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to partner with a diverse stakeholder base to understand needs and develop technology requirements that deliver on them, and articulate complex technical concepts to both technical teams and executive leadership
• Demonstrated ability to evaluate vendors and managed contracts with an eye to creating platform-based solutions
• Enterprise architecture experience is highly preferred
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Relevant professional certifications are highly desirable: MS-102: Microsoft 365 Administrator, MD-102: Endpoint Administrator, MS-700 / Teams Voice (optional but valuable), DEX & ITSM, Nexthink, Lakeside, ControlUp certifications (if applicable), ITIL v4 Foundation
