Company Overview
Our client is the first industry-supported financial network for private banks and wealth management firms, providing access to issuers of structured products. Their transaction network enables buy-side firms to price and place orders for these products.
Our client is seeking a DevOps Engineer to enhance their DevOps and automation practices. Their application suite is built natively on AWS, utilizing top-tier design patterns (microservice architecture, containerized, orchestrated by Kubernetes).This role offers hands-on experience with an established financial technology firm and an opportunity to collaborate with a dynamic team across various disciplines.
You will play a key role in developing and maintaining our DevOps practices, including a microservice automation framework and overseeing infrastructure as code on AWS.
You will report directly to the Head of DevOps & Infrastructure.
The Candidate
• You have prior experience as a Java developer working with service-based architecture.
• You are familiar with microservice architecture.
• You excel in designing and implementing practices surrounding CI, CD, as well as automated build, testing, deployment, and monitoring.
• You have experience working with cloud infrastructure.
Responsibilities
• Further enhance our DevOps practice and automation framework for Java services.
• Take ownership of the AWS infrastructure agenda, including monitoring, alerting, and evolution.
• Improve scalability, monitoring, alerting, and resiliency.
• Collaborate closely with the Java development team on automation topics and with the support team for infrastructure topics.
Required Skills
• At least 3 years of experience in a DevOps role.
• Prior experience building and managing services in AWS or similar high-performance cloud environments.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Pulumi or Terraform.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Go and Python.
• Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration.
• Experience maintaining and working with Kubernetes and EKS.
• Ability to manage and enhance CI/CD tools such as Jenkins.
• Experience using configuration management tools (Salt, Ansible, Puppet).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
• Experience working and administrating Linux environments.
• Shell scripting experience is a plus.
• AWS certification is a plus.
Location
• This is a full-time position based in Central, Hong Kong.
