Senior DevOps Engineer - AI-Native Fintech Location: San Francisco - Onsite 5 days per week Team: #1 DevOps hire, 15 Engineers Salary: $180K - $275K + Strong Equity We're building an AI-native fintech platform that's modernizing how finance teams operate. Backed by top tier investors and serving a fast growing customer base, we're focused on creating secure, scalable systems that can support complex financial workflows at speed. We're looking for a DevOps Engineer to own and evolve the cloud infrastructure that underpins our product - someone who cares deeply about reliability, security, and automation, and enjoys working closely with application engineers. What you'll be doing • Design, build, and operate cloud infrastructure on AWS using infrastructure-as-code • Own deployment pipelines and automate operational workflows to keep the team moving fast • Implement monitoring, alerting, and observability to ensure system health and rapid incident response • Manage and optimize production databases, including performance tuning, backups, and replication • Establish and enforce infrastructure security best practices across environments • Partner with product and engineering teams to support smooth releases and resolve production issues • Build for high availability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery from day one What we're looking for • Strong hands-on experience with AWS in production environments • Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform or equivalent) • Experience automating systems using Python or similar scripting languages • Solid understanding of PostgreSQL operations and performance considerations • Familiarity with modern observability tools (e.g. New Relic, Sentry, Datadog) • Strong grasp of cloud security fundamentals, including IAM and network design • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and containerized workloads Bonus points for • Experience operating systems in high-traffic or mission-critical environments • Exposure to Kubernetes or container orchestration at scale • Knowledge of additional scripting or systems languages • Experience working in early-stage or high-growth startups Why join • Own critical infrastructure at a growing, well-funded AI-native fintech • Work closely with a small, highly capable engineering team • In-person, highly collaborative culture based in San Francisco • Competitive compensation and meaningful equity • Opportunity to build foundational systems that will scale with the company If you enjoy building reliable systems, automating everything you can, and being close to both product and engineering decisions, this role offers real ownership and impact.
