Your Role as a Data Engineer
As a Data Engineer, you will develop essential data solutions and manage pipelines that transform diverse data sources into actionable insights for our National Security clients. Your expertise will be vital in addressing complex challenges, utilizing distributed computing techniques to handle large-scale, real-time, and unstructured data effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and develop data pipelines, focusing on ingestion, orchestration, and ETL processing (e.g., NiFi).
• Maintain data consistency, quality, and security throughout all processes.
• Design and manage database schemas and data models.
• Integrate and enhance data from various sources while ensuring data integrity.
• Support and upgrade existing architectural components, including Data Ingestion and Data Stores.
• Diagnose and resolve issues within integrated data systems.
• Work with the scrum team to breakdown user requirements into epics and stories.
• Write clean, secure, and reusable code adhering to a test-driven development methodology.
• Monitor system performance and implement updates for optimal operation.
Candidate Requirements:
• Active Enhanced DV clearance (West)
• Readiness to work full-time on-site in London when necessary.
Essential Technical Skills:
• Apache Kafka
• Apache NiFi
• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB)
• Experience with ETL processing languages such as Groovy, Python, or Java
