A leading telecommunications and technology-enabled services sector in Central Hong Kong is seeking a Data Scientist Consultant to join their knowledgeable and supportive team. As part of a large Data Science team, you will support end-to-end projects—from understanding business requirements to delivering impactful solutions. You will work on complex data science and AI initiatives, including new PoCs and R&D projects, to proactively anticipate and address evolving business needs.
Key responsibilities
As part of a large Data Science team, you will deliver end-to-end data science and AI solutions, from business understanding to deployment, while developing PoCs and R&D initiatives to support evolving business needs.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists to design and deliver advanced analytics and models, leveraging data science and AI tools to analyse large datasets and develop custom algorithms that uncover meaningful insights, trends, and patterns
• Design and execute analytical experiments to solve business problems and drive measurable impact across business units and external partners
• Build and optimise custom algorithms and models using large datasets to uncover insights, trends, and patterns
• Define KPIs and success metrics, ensuring accurate and timely reporting and model performance validation
• Partner with IT and Data Engineering teams to enable data access, deploy solutions, and communicate results to stakeholders
Candidate profile
To excel as a Data Scientist Consultant in this renowned retail conglomerate environment, you will bring proven experience applying quantitative analysis techniques across varied industries such as Healthtech or Retail.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, or a related quantitative field
• 3–6 years of data science experience in industries such as Retail, Healthtech, Insurtech, FMCG, Property, or Telecom
• Strong expertise in quantitative analysis, machine learning, and advanced techniques including deep learning (e.g. NLP, computer vision, neural networks)
• Proficient in Python or R, with experience in data mining, statistical modeling, and large-scale data analysis; exposure to Hadoop and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP is a plus
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, fluency in Cantonese or Mandarin, and a demonstrated commitment to knowledge sharing and continuous development
