About the Role
We are seeking a Data Engineer to join our AI Business Development Team and support the development of AI-powered platforms and solutions. The Data Engineer will design, build, and maintain data pipelines that enable machine learning model development and deployment across multiple project domains.
Responsibilities Data Pipeline Development Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines to support AI/ML workloads Integrate data from diverse sources including IoT devices, APIs, databases, and document files Design and maintain Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERD) and data schemas Produce Data Quality Reports and implement data validation frameworks Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across the data lifecycle ML Model Support Collaborate with data scientists to prepare, clean, and structure datasets for ML model training Handle imbalanced datasets using techniques such as SMOTE, under-sampling, and oversampling Perform feature engineering and selection using PCA, SHAP, or factor analysis methods Support model evaluation and iteration (Precision, Recall, F1 metrics analysis) Build and maintain feature engineering pipelines to support predictive analytics Assist in deploying ML models into production environments and monitor model performance Cloud Infrastructure Implement and manage cloud-based data solutions using AWS services (S3, EC2, Redshift, Glue, Athena, Lambda) Optimize data storage and processing for cost-efficiency and performance Support data lake and data warehouse architecture design and maintenance Data Quality & Governance Implement data validation, monitoring, and quality assurance processes Maintain documentation for data models, pipelines, and system architectures Ensure compliance with data privacy and security best practices Requirements (MUST-HAVE Skills) Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related field 2-4 years of hands‑on experience in data engineering or related roles Proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and analysis Experience with ETL tools and frameworks (e.g., Apache Airflow, AWS Glue, dbt) Familiarity with cloud platforms, preferably AWS (S3, EC2, Redshift, Lambda) Understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.) Experience designing data schemas and ERD documentation Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail Fluency in English and Cantonese is essential. Preferred (Bonus Skills) Experience with NLP/text processing for document parsing (CV, JD extraction) Familiarity with data imbalance handling techniques (SMOTE, class weighting) Experience with feature importance analysis and explainability tools (SHAP, LIME) Experience with ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit‑learn) or ML pipelines (SageMaker) Understanding of REST API development for data service integration Familiarity with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, QuickSight) Experience processing streaming data (Kafka, Kinesis) or IoT sensor data AWS certification (e.g., AWS Certified Data Engineer Associate) is advantageous Understanding of CI/CD practices and version control (Git) Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments with sprint‑based delivery Salary
