Job Title: Data Analytics/Reporting/Dashboard Engineer
Preference: Hybrid-Oakland/LA or Charlotte, NC
Duration: 12+ Months
Interview Process:
• Technical SQL assessment (required for all candidates)
• Two interviews after the assessment
Role Breakdown
• 60% data manipulation:
-Build tables/views
-Shape/transform data for reporting needs
• 40% dashboarding / visualization
Dashboarding / BI Tools
• They’re moving away from Looker and are toward Amazon QuickSight
• Acceptable alternatives: Tableau, Power BI, Qlik
Testing Knowledge
• Should understand A/B testing fundamentals
-Audience segmentation, experiment context
-They won’t run experiments independently, but need to understand how it works and how to interpret/report on it
What they’re looking for
• This is NOT a Data Engineer role (no ETL pipeline building)
• Profile is closer to an Analytics / Reporting Developer building:
-Reports, dashboards, and data views
-Curated datasets from the warehouse (they leverage the warehouse, not engineer it)
Strong plus: Consumer banking / fintech experience
• Examples mentioned: SoFi, Chime, Robinhood
Qualifications
• 4–6 years of experience in analytics, data science, or a related field.
• Strong SQL skills; experience working with large, complex datasets.
• Hands-on experience with dashboarding and BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Mode, Power BI, Amazon Quick suite).
• Proven experience designing and analyzing experiments (A/B testing, causal inference).
• Ability to synthesize complex analyses into clear narratives for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong business judgment and comfort working in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
Nice to Have
• Experience supporting consumer products, fintech, or growth marketing teams.
• Familiarity with experimentation platforms and statistical methods.
