This is a part-time, high-responsibility role for someone who moves fast, notices everything, and follows through without reminders.
Wanderlust Careers is hiring a Data Analyst: Career Testing Specialist to support our career testing and assessment work. While this role is flexible and remote, it is not casual. We work quickly, expect prompt communication, and care deeply about precision.
This is not a traditional data analyst position. You will be working at the intersection of data, psychology, and technology, conducting career assessments used with real clients whose outcomes matter, so extreme attention to detail is essential.
You’ll be a good fit if you:
Respond quickly and reliably to messages and tasks
Enjoy structured work, checklists, and double-checking your own output
Are comfortable learning and using new tech and AI tools
Can follow processes exactly and flag issues proactively
Are calm, organized, and self-directed (no hand-holding)
You should be comfortable with:
Basic statistics and data interpretation
Mixed methods (quantitative + qualitative synthesis)
Psychological assessment and psychometrics (or the ability to learn this fast)
Client-facing communication that is warm, clear, and professional
This role is ideal for someone who is eager to work, highly dependable, and energized by doing things well and efficiently. If you prefer slow timelines, lots of back-and-forth, or loosely defined expectations, this will not be a good fit.

Specific Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To)
Conduct 45-minute Career Psychosocial Interviews with clients via video conference to collect data, review their career, social, educational, and work histories
Review client Career Assessment data (Strong Interest Inventory, NEO-PI, MBTI, etc.)
Review results and write a report of the assessment and providing career choice recommendations in clear, easy-to digest prose
Conduct 45-minute result sessions with clients via video conference review their results, develop an action plan, and hand off client to their career coach
Note: this is a testing only position (short-term testing clients only)
Qualifications
Must have a master-or doctoral level degree in social work, counseling psychology, clinical psychology, statistics, or related field (or be a student in one of these areas)
Must have a strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative research methods
Must have a strong understanding of basic statistics and psychometrics of psychological assessment
Must have a strong understanding of basic AI, how to query, etc. (e.g.. Chat GPT)
Candidate Preferences
This is a writing-heavy position: strong written communication skills are a must!
This position requires creative and critical thinking to write a thoughtful, nuanced report for each client
Previous coaching, counseling, psychotherapy, social work, mentoring, teaching and/or lecturing experience are a plus!
The ability to think strategically and creatively to drive client outcome improvements
Excellent communication skills
Salary & Benefits:
Project based fees come out to about $40 per hour, part-time (10-25 hours per week)
100% remote—work from anywhere!
