On behalf of our Utilities Client, Ignite Technical Resources is recruiting for a Cyber Security Consultant to join our Client's team on a Contract basis. This role is Remote and the Client is based in Vancouver, BC. Summary of the Role The Cyber Security Consultant will support cybersecurity governance and reporting initiatives, with a primary focus on metrics, performance reporting, and compliance monitoring. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining cybersecurity KPIs and KRIs, analyzing trends, and producing clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders. The consultant will work closely with cybersecurity teams to ensure accurate, timely reporting and contribute to continuous improvement of security metrics and reporting processes. Duties & Responsibilities • Develop, manage, and maintain cybersecurity KPIs, KRIs, and supporting tools, templates, and documentation • Collect, validate, and consolidate cybersecurity data from multiple sources • Prepare regular and ad-hoc cybersecurity performance reports • Analyze data and trends, presenting insights in clear and concise formats • Monitor and report on policy compliance, exceptions, issues, and remediation activities • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to cybersecurity metrics and reporting • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure readiness and accuracy of metrics information • Provide support to cybersecurity programs and initiatives as required Core Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field • 2–4 years of experience in cybersecurity, with exposure to metrics, reporting, and/or governance • Working knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and risk management principles • Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools such as Excel, Power BI, or Tableau • Experience producing reports for both technical and business audiences Desired Skills & Experience • Cybersecurity certification such as CISSP, CISA, or equivalent • Experience supporting cybersecurity governance or compliance programs • Familiarity with public sector security environments or standards Terms This is a contract role with an initial term of five months and the possibility of extensions. The position is fully remote with no onsite requirements. The successful candidate must provide their own laptop and will be required to complete applicable security checks prior to commencing the role.
