About the Company
Our client is a rapidly growing, PE‑backed startup operating within a subscription‑based business model.
The company is scaling quickly and is seeking a hands‑on, process‑driven Controller to help build out the accounting infrastructure, support long‑term growth, and ensure the highest standards of financial integrity.
Position Overview
The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting operations and establishing a strong financial foundation as the company continues to expand.
This individual will partner closely with the FP&A team, support strategic decision‑making, and help design and implement scalable accounting processes, systems, and controls.
The ideal candidate will bring experience working with subscription‑based billing systems and will be given the opportunity to evaluate, repair, or rebuild the company's existing billing platform.

Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage all aspects of the accounting function, including general ledger, month‑end close, reporting, and compliance.
Develop and implement scalable accounting processes, policies, and internal controls in a rapidly expanding environment.
Oversee revenue recognition and ensure compliance with ASC 606 and subscription‑based accounting requirements.
Partner with FP&A on budgeting, forecasting, pricing analysis, business modeling, and financial strategy.
Evaluate and improve the existing subscription‑based billing system; lead enhancements, process improvements, and system integrations as needed.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including Operations, Technology, and Customer Success—to support growth initiatives and ensure financial accuracy.
Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, management reports, and analyses for executive leadership.
Manage external audits, tax filings, and financial reviews in coordination with outside firms.
Support the CFO with investor reporting, board presentations, and private equity information requests.
Build and mentor a growing accounting team as the company scales.
Qualifications
CPA required.
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including time in a PE‑backed, startup, or high‑growth environment.
Strong understanding of subscription‑based revenue models and billing systems.
Demonstrated experience implementing or improving accounting systems, processes, and internal controls.
Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP, particularly revenue recognition standards.
Experience partnering cross‑functionally with FP&A and other business units.
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities.
Leadership experience preferred; ability to build and scale a team.
Must be able to work on‑site 2 days per week.
