Job Summary: The Field Application Engineer Intern will be responsible to assist our customers to design in with Quectel product and solution. They will be responsible for engaging Quectel customers across North America who want to design with Quectel module/Antenna/Services, working independently and together with our regional teams in North America. Responsibilities · Provide technical support for Quectel's entire product line, including 5G, LTE/LTE-A, UMTS/HSPA, GSM/GPRS and GNSS wireless technologies. · Provide Pre-Sales and Post-Sales technical support and customer training on Quectel wireless modules and development tools. · Provide quick responses to customer technical enquiries, being prepared to travel for on-site support across north America. · Be able to give product presentations and conduct product and tool training for customers on-site. · Provide tangible feedback and feasible Quectel solutions to customers, based on their application requirements. · Develop simple demonstration applications to help customers evaluate and integrate Quectel modules quicker and more effectively. · Prepare Weekly Technical Reports indicating the support activity and open issue progress. · Other duties as the business requires. Educational and Skill Requirements · Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Embedded Systems, or a related technical discipline. · Basic understanding of wireless communication concepts, such as cellular (LTE/5G), GNSS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or RF fundamentals is preferred. · Familiar with embedded systems concepts; basic experience with MCU, Linux, or embedded software development is a plus. · Exposure to hardware design fundamentals, such as schematics, power supply, interfaces (UART, USB, I2C, SPI), and antennas, is an advantage. · Basic programming skills in C/C++, Python, or shell scripting are preferred; ability to read and modify example code. · Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to learn new technologies in a fast-paced environment. · Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal; able to communicate technical topics clearly with customers and internal teams. · Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to work independently as well as in a team environment. · Interest in customer-facing technical roles and willingness to support pre-sales and post-sales engineering activities. · Able to work legally in North America for the internship duration. · Availability to work part-time or full-time during the internship period, with flexibility to align with academic schedules. Nice to Have Skills · Previous internship, project, or lab experience related to wireless modules, IoT devices, or embedded products. · Hands-on experience using evaluation boards, development kits, or test tools (e.g., serial tools, logic analyzers, basic RF tools). · Familiarity with AT commands or modem-based communication is a plus. Compensation: $25 per hour Duration: The internship is expected to last 8 months, with the possibility of extension based on business needs and performance.
