In this role, you will take ownership of CNC machining operations supporting both prototype and production programs. You will work closely with engineering teams to machine precision molds and high-performance components that directly support mission-critical defense applications. Job Duties • Own CNC machining operations end-to-end, from CAM programming through setup and final machining • Machine high-precision molds and prototype components on accelerated timelines • Collaborate closely with engineering to provide manufacturability feedback and improve design for production • Select tooling, optimize cutting strategies, and refine setups for both composite and metal materials • Develop and improve CAM templates, fixturing strategies, and machining workflows to support scalable production • Maintain and calibrate CNC equipment to ensure consistent quality and performance • Manage aspects of tooling and material operations, including procurement, tool library organization, and shop standardization • Communicate clearly regarding project status, risks, and timeline updates • Maintain a professional, organized, and high-accountability shop environment Qualifications • 4+ years of CNC machining experience • Experience operating CNC vertical mills and CNC lathes • Proficiency with CAD and CAM software such as Onshape, Autodesk Fusion CAM, or comparable platforms • Ability to interpret CAD models, technical drawings, and GD&T requirements • Strong attention to detail and ownership mindset • Clear communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams Preferred Experience • Background in mold making or high-precision machining • Experience with complex 3D surfacing • Exposure to composite manufacturing environments • Experience building or standardizing tooling libraries • Prior involvement in scaling machining processes for production Why Join Us • Opportunity for meaningful growth in a scaling defense technology company • Direct impact on mission-critical programs • Hands-on exposure to advanced composite manufacturing workflows • Ability to help define machining standards during a major growth phase • Fast-paced startup environment with high ownership and accountability • Stock options • Paid time off • 401K with employer match up to 4 percent of salary • Medical benefits including health, dental, and vision coverage Compensation Details $100,000 – $140,000
