A leading telecommunications enterprise is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud & Database Infrastructure Specialist to join its IT & Digital Intelligence team. The role focuses on designing, building and optimising next-generation cloud computing platforms and enterprise-grade database solutions to support R&D and operational needs in a fast-evolving digital environment.
Key Responsibilities
Gain deep insight into the infrastructure requirements (network, compute, storage) of telecom operators in both R&D and production environments, and take ownership of research, architecture design and development of cloud computing platforms and associated products.
Thoroughly analyse business use cases and deliver the most appropriate supporting tools tailored to different scenarios to enhance the usability, reliability and operational efficiency of cloud architecture and database offerings.
Lead the adoption and implementation of cloud-native technologies, with continuous focus on improving system stability, performance, cost-effectiveness, availability, scalability and ease of maintenance.
Design and build enterprise-grade database products, delivering industry-leading distributed OLTP / HTAP database solutions.
Strengthen technical capabilities within the database ecosystem by addressing complex management challenges across on-premises, public cloud and hybrid deployments, and develop advanced database management platforms and solutions recognised as best-in-class.
Requirements
Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Automation, Information Technology or a closely related discipline (preferred).
Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience in system architecture, cloud infrastructure or database development/operations.
Strong technical background including:
Hands-on experience with server virtualization platforms and mainstream cloud frameworks (e.g. KVM, Xen, OpenStack).
Proven project delivery experience in load balancers, various VPN gateways (IPsec, SSL, etc.), and routers.
Solid administration and configuration experience with relational databases (MySQL, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (Redis, MongoDB).
Project delivery experience using open-source technologies such as Kubernetes (K8s) and OpenStack; large-scale project management experience is highly desirable.
Exposure to IaaS, PaaS and/or SaaS cloud service ecosystems in development or operations.
Practical experience in on-site implementation and configuration across at least four of the following domains: networking, servers, storage, virtualization, cloud computing, disaster recovery, information security.
Deep understanding of distributed system principles and networking fundamentals, with practical insight into scalability, high availability, distribution and security; relevant project experience preferred.
