🚀 Hiring: Systems Architect (Power BI & Databricks) 📍 Location: Toronto / Waterloo (Hybrid – 3 days onsite, 2 days remote) 🕒 Duration: 6+ Months Contract (High possibility of conversion) We’re looking for a Systems Architect to join a data & analytics team focused on modernizing enterprise BI and analytics platforms. This role sits within a broader data portfolio and plays a key part in delivering scalable, high-impact reporting solutions using Databricks, Azure, and Power BI. Role Overview You’ll work across multiple enterprise initiatives, helping design, build, and migrate analytics and reporting solutions while partnering closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders. 🛠 Key Responsibilities • Support and deliver across 4 enterprise initiatives, including: • SSAS to Microsoft Fabric migration (greenfield) • Building new operational Power BI reports and dashboards from the ground up (currently running) • SSRS to Power BI migration (currently running) • Executive-level dashboards and reporting for leadership decision-making (greenfield) • Design and implement scalable analytics and reporting solutions using Power BI, Azure, and Databricks • Lead and support migration of reporting assets from SSRS to Power BI • Optimize data models, DAX calculations, and Power Query transformations • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into BI solutions • Ensure performance, reliability, and usability of analytics platforms • Promote best practices around data governance and reporting standards ✅ Must-Have Skills • Strong foundation in traditional BI & analytics • Hands-on experience with Azure and Databricks • Advanced Power BI expertise, including: • Power Query • DAX (complex calculations, KPIs, performance tuning) • Data modeling and visualization best practices • Proven experience representing complex datasets in Power BI dashboards and reports ⭐ Nice-to-Have Skills • Experience with SSAS to Microsoft Fabric migration • Familiarity with the Microsoft Fabric ecosystem • Understanding of data governance frameworks • Experience working with SSRS in hybrid reporting environments
