Our client is currently seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer This position is Hybrid to downtown Chicago (3 days a week onsite) Responsibilities • Analyze and interpret reporting requirements across multiple business streams. • Design and develop high-performance BI dashboards and reports following best practices. • Configure report security, access controls, and user permissions. • Build BI data models optimized for flexibility, scalability, and performance. • Develop Tableau data extracts, pass-through queries, and complex visualizations. • Evaluate and refine dimensional data models to improve reporting suitability. • Collaborate with BI Leads, DBAs, and ETL development teams to support end-to-end data pipelines. • Monitor and support production dashboards to ensure consistent performance and availability. Minimum Qualifications • 5+ years of experience in data-centric design and development for BI, reporting, or analytics. • 3+ years of experience architecting and developing enterprise reporting solutions using Tableau. • CICD • Github for source controls • Jenkins for pipelining • Kubernetes / Rancher • Python Debugging • Need to be able to help with debugging issues on deployments • Strong SQL skills and a solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and data management systems. • Experience working with Linux/command line tools and Git. • Proficiency with scripting languages such as Shell, Python, or similar. • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform). • Understanding of relational and non-relational database systems and data warehouse architectures. • Experience in the software development lifecycle (Waterfall, Lean, Agile). • Excellent communication and presentation skills. Preferred Qualifications • Experience optimizing performance for large-scale Tableau workbooks, dashboards, and extracts. • 3+ years of hands-on experience with DevOps tooling (e.g., Jenkins, Rancher) and supporting CI/CD pipelines. • Ability to work directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate needs into BI solutions. • Familiarity with financial markets, particularly derivatives and derivative instruments. • Strong ability to understand data models and assess their relevance to reporting and analytics. Rate $65-85/HR
