Job Summary:
Role: Backend Node JS developer
Client: Sapient
Location: NYC
Duration: 1+ years Contract
We are seeking senior web server-side developer (5-10 years of experience) with strong hands-on experience in developing services and business components for front-end app, mainly for web apps. The service layer will primarily be in NodeJS, Socket.io while some of the data crunching and business logic will be written in java.
Candidate must have experience in NodeJS, socket.io, Java, RESTful server APIs written in NodeJS or other technologies. Being service side developer requires strong architecture concepts, design fundamentals, domain objects, threading, and data structures/processing.
You will be working on a fast-paced, highly visible and very challenging project, and are expected to be a self-starter and start delivering from get-go without expecting a long training and orientation period.
Key Responsibilities:
¿ Responsible for systems analysis, Design, Coding, Unit Testing and other SDLC activities
¿ Analyze and convert functional requirements into concrete technical tasks and able to provide reasonable effort estimates
¿ Directly impacts the business by ensuring the quality of work provided by self and others; works closely with other teams as partner
¿ Work proactively, independently and with global teams to address project requirements, and articulate issues/challenges with enough lead time to address project delivery risks
¿ Providing expertise in technical analysis and solving technical issues during project delivery
¿ Code reviews, test case reviews and ensure code developed meets the requirements
¿ Demonstrate ownership and initiative taking
¿ Ability to work and collaborate with remote teams in India, Canada, UK
Must Have Experience:
¿ Strong hands on experience in Node JS, Socket.io, JSON, XML
¿ Test Driven Development in JavaScript framework
¿ Web Sockets programming for real time data, mutli-threading
¿ Java, Strong OOPS fundamentals
¿ Working of SOA and design patterns
¿ Database experience with Oracle, SQL etc.
¿ Strong experience with timeseries data, data structures such as trees/maps/lists.
¿ Strong communication skills, should be able to communicate effectively with business and other stake holder
Demonstrate ownership and initiative taking
Nice to have Skills:
¿ Prior Investment Banking experience (particularly in Equities) is highly desirable
¿ Understanding and esperience with UI Javascript frameworks like ReactJS, AngJS is desirable
¿ Experience with JIRA, GIT/Bitbucket highly desired.
¿ KDb+/Q is a plus.
¿ Understanding of Agile processes is desirable
