AWS Cloud Engineer

Job Title: AWS Cloud Engineer Location: Remote / EST hours Contract: 6 months Description An experienced AWS Cloud Engineer with strong expertise in cloud governance, identity and access management, automation, and infrastructureascode. The ideal candidate will help design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and compliant AWS environments while driving automation across the organization. Required Skills & Experience • Strong hands-on experience with AWS IAM , AWS Organizations , and AWS governance models . • Deep understanding of AWS Policies , including IAM policies, SCPs, and resource based policies. • Proficiency in Terraform for infrastructure‑as‑code. • Solid programming experience with Python for automation and tooling. • Familiarity with cloud security, compliance, and multi-account management. • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast paced, cross functional environment. Preferred Qualifications • AWS certifications (e.g., Security Specialty, Solutions Architect, SysOps). • Experience with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI). • Knowledge of logging, monitoring, and observability tools (CloudWatch, GuardDuty, Security Hub). Deliverables AWS Governance & Security • Develop and enforce AWS governance frameworks , ensuring compliance with organizational and industry standards. • Define and maintain AWS Organizations structure, including multi account strategy, guardrails, and service control policies (SCPs). • Create, review, and optimize AWS IAM roles, policies, permission boundaries, and identity federation . • Implement and manage AWS Policies (IAM, SCPs, resource policies) to ensure least privilege access and secure operations. • Monitor and improve cloud security posture through continuous assessment and remediation. Infrastructure Automation • Build and manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform , ensuring reusable, scalable, and version controlled IaC modules. • Automate operational tasks, workflows, and cloud processes using Python . • Support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment strategies. Cloud Architecture & Operations • Collaborate with cross functional teams to design secure and scalable AWS solutions. • Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure issues and provide technical guidance to development and operations teams. • Contribute to cloud best practices, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
