Automation QA Engineer / SDET (C# / .NET) | System, API & Web | Fully Remote (UK) Location: United Kingdom (Fully Remote) - London preferred Package: £50,000 - £60,000 base salary + Excellent Benefits Eligibility: Must hold a British Passport or ILR (for security checks) | Must be based in the UK (no exceptions) Please only apply if you have commercial experience with all of the following : • C# / .NET automation • SpecFlow and/or ReqNRoll • Automated testing across system, API and web layers • Building or extending automation frameworks • Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines • Strong grounding in automation best practices Bonus: Azure DevOps, API tooling, Docker/containers, cloud experience (AWS/Azure) Required Background • 4+ years' hands-on automation engineering experience • Proven ability to own testing end-to-end • Experience working in strong engineering environments with modern development practices • Solid understanding of automation architecture and test design • Experience improving test stability, performance, or reliability • Able to analyse complex systems and design effective test strategies Very Important Notes • Must have UK residency plus British Passport or ILR • This is a hands-on automation-heavy role • around 75/80% automation • Not suitable for manual-only testers or those with limited C# automation • You must be able to work independently and build/extend production-grade automation suites Must-Haves • Strong C# / .NET automation engineering experience • SpecFlow / ReqNRoll (BDD) • Automated testing across system, API, and web • Ability to design, maintain, and optimise automation frameworks • CI/CD integration (any modern pipeline tool) • Strong debugging & problem-solving skills • Fully remote capability within the UK • Eligible for clearance (British Passport or ILR) • Stable work history and evidence of delivering long-term value Bonus Experience • Azure DevOps • API automation frameworks • Docker / containerisation • AWS or Azure • Testing distributed or microservices-based systems • Improving test performance, flakiness, and coverage • Mentoring or supporting junior engineers Hands-On Experience With • C# (.NET) • SpecFlow / ReqNRoll • Automation framework development (system, API, UI) • CI/CD tooling and pipeline integration • Testing modern enterprise systems • Root cause analysis and debugging complex test failures What You'll Be Doing Automation Engineering • Build and extend automation frameworks (C#, SpecFlow) • Deliver scalable system, API, and web automation • Integrate automation suites into CI/CD • Maintain and improve reliability, performance, and stability of tests Quality Ownership • Own testing end-to-end across assigned features • Improve defect detection and test coverage • Shift testing earlier in the pipeline • Drive quality improvements in engineering processes Collaboration • Work closely with engineers, product, and architecture • Contribute to test strategy and engineering discussions • Help embed modern automation-first practices What They're Looking For • A capable automation engineer with depth in C# • Someone who takes ownership and builds robust, maintainable solutions • A problem-solver, not a box-ticking tester • Someone with the engineering maturity to deliver impact and improve systems over time If you tick all the above boxes and are an expert in automating with C# and Reqnroll, reach out to us for a quick response.
