We are a leading firm seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to become a valuable part of our IT Operations team. This role offers the chance to design, develop, and maintain automation solutions and workflows for a range of enterprise applications, significantly impacting quality assurance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
• Automation & Workflow Development: Create and manage automations across Exchange, Intune, Mimecast, Active Directory, EntraID, Freshworks, and other third-party applications, driving process efficiency and reliability.
• Robotic Process Automation (RPA): Develop RPA solutions that enhance application quality assurance and validate system changes through effective post-patch testing.
• Technical Proficiency: Use PowerShell, Power Automate, Microsoft Graph, and similar tools to automate administrative tasks, support data integration, and improve reporting.
• Integration Support: Manage and support cloud-hosted solutions and microservices, utilizing APIs and modern authentication protocols.
System Administration & Support:
• Provide expert troubleshooting for automated workflows, collaborating with IT Operations for seamless support.
• Monitor and optimize automation performance, identifying bottlenecks to ensure operations run smoothly.
• Conduct audits and security reviews to maintain data integrity in automated processes.
Collaboration & Project Delivery:
• Collaborate with End User Compute and Enterprise Applications teams to design scalable automation solutions.
• Engage in the firm's technology roadmap focused on enhancing automation and operational excellence.
• Lead and contribute to automation projects, overseeing planning and successful execution.
• Create thorough documentation for service teams and provide advanced support for automation issues.
Quality Assurance & Testing:
• Develop and implement automated QA scripts for comprehensive application testing, regression validation, and post-patch evaluations.
• Adopt systematic testing approaches, integrating RPA and AI-driven tools for improved accuracy.
Vendor & Stakeholder Engagement:
• Contribute to RFP/RFI processes for selecting automation tools and analyze vendor options.
• Manage strategic vendor relationships in automation and integration technologies.
Continuous Improvement:
• Stay informed on the latest automation, RPA, and AI technologies, proactively suggesting improvements to systems.
• Document automation processes and configurations for reference and training purposes.
Other Duties:
• Identify and communicate automation-related risks to IT leadership.
• Participate in incident response and outage calls as necessary.
• Undertake additional duties as needed to fulfill job expectations.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in automation for enterprise applications, preferably in legal or professional services sectors.
• Strong expertise in PowerShell, Power Automate, Microsoft Graph, and RPA platforms.
• Experience with Microsoft operating systems deployment and management.
• Proven project leadership experience and ability to deliver automation solutions independently.
• Familiarity with systematic software testing and QA automation techniques.
• Azure Fundamentals Certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of modern authentication protocols and cloud integrations.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver valuable results.
• Experience with AI-driven automation tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, Azure AI).
• Understanding of machine learning concepts for optimizing processes.
• Ability to leverage AI for predictive analytics and intelligent workflow orchestration.
Salary:
Chicago Only DOE: $98,000 - $125,000
Washington DC Only DOE: $102,000 - $130,000
