Overview
Initial Term: 1 year (until September 30, 2026)
Extensions: Up to two (2) optional one-year extensions
Work Hours: Minimum 7 hours/day
Work Location: Primarily Remote, with occasional onsite support in Edmonton, Alberta (at the candidate's own expense)
Responsibilities
• Developing and maintaining test plans, cases, and automated test scripts
• Performing automated application testing on Learn Alberta and associated platforms
• Conducting multiple testing phases: Functional, System, Integration, Regression, UAT, Mobile (iOS/Android), Cross-browser, Accessibility (WCAG 2.0)
• Validating requirements, user stories, and UI/UX designs
• Identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects
• Managing test data and defect backlogs
• Producing status and progress reports as required
Mandatory Qualifications (Must-Have)
• 5+ years of dedicated application testing experience within the past 7 years
• 1+ year experience writing and executing automated UI and API tests
Desirable Qualifications (Nice-to-Have)
• Prior experience on Agile projects as a dedicated automated tester
• Proficiency with modern testing frameworks (e.g., Cypress.io or equivalent)
• Experience with cross-platform, mobile, and accessibility (WCAG 2.0) testing
• Background in testing large-scale, web-based educational platforms
