Software Engineer – Generative AI Hub (Contract)
We’re working with a major UK organisation building out its Generative AI Innovation Hub – a fast-paced, cross-functional team delivering short GenAI proof-of-concept projects that turn creative ideas into working prototypes.
We’re looking for a Software Engineer who can work across the full stack and bring ideas to life alongside Product Managers, Machine Learning Engineers and Data Scientists. You’ll be part of a small, agile team delivering 4–6 week AI projects that explore the next generation of intelligent applications.
What you’ll be doing
• Build and deploy custom GenAI applications using modern cloud tech (AWS, Python, CI/CD).
• Own API development, database design, and infrastructure deployment via Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Collaborate with data science teams to integrate AI models and APIs (AWS Bedrock, LangGraph, Azure GPT, etc.).
• Occasionally support lightweight front-end work (React / Python).
• Work in agile sprints, joining daily stand-ups and planning sessions.
What we’re looking for
• Git
• AWS services (including Terraform / Cloud Formation)
• CI/CD pipelines
• API development in Python
• SQL and NoSQL databases
• Docker containers
• Some familiarity (e.g. awareness and has used them before) with Generative AI tools e.g. AWS Bedrock, Strands, LangGraph, Azure GPT
