Position Summary
The Assembly & Test Specialist is a subject matter expert within the functional team, providing insight and direction to internal and/or external work teams. Additionally, this position may need to work with customers in understanding their needs. This individual will be able to troubleshoot and recommend modifications as needed within the scope of Assembly and Test Operations. The Assembly & Test Specialist ensures reliable testing operations, supports technician development, and maintains high safety and quality standards to enable consistent, on time production.
Essential Job Duties:
Testing & Compliance
• Perform assembly and testing activities in accordance with SOPs, safety rules, and quality standards.
• Identify and communicate documentation or process gaps.
Training & Development
• Train new and existing technicians in assembly and testing procedures, equipment use, safety, and documentation.
• Support updates to Work Instructions (WIs) and SOPs and help communicate changes.
• Completes more complex tasks in accordance with procedures and applicable codes and/or standards, offering guidance to less experienced personnel to strengthen skills and correct deficiencies.
• Conduct competency assessments and sign training logbooks.
• Subject Matter Expert and Point of Contact (POC) for all activities related to control valve assembly and test.
• Expected to interface with all levels of internal and external customers on technical aspects of Assembly & Test and our Product. Commitment to customer service is critical.
• Effectively communicate complex information to both management and other employees, anticipating questions and focusing on key elements. Handle sensitive issues and exhibit exemplary customer service to internal and external customers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred.
Required Experience:
• 10+ years of experience in hydraulic control valve assembly and testing.
• 2+ years of R&D or valve qualification testing experience.
• Strong knowledge of pressure testing, equipment safety, and documentation requirements.
• Possesses thorough knowledge of applicable theories, practices, and accepted internal business processes and procedures.
• Ability to understand, troubleshoot, explain and teach others about technical tools and instruments required to perform duties.
• Strong organizational and communication skills across multiple departments
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Well versed in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, sit, lift, push, pull and move objects for 8-12 hours per day.
• Ability to lift and carry files, packages, boxes weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
• Speak/hear and use specific vision abilities such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
• Capable of properly using standard office equipment, including telephone, and a computer with keyboard.
• Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Includes steel toe shoes and safety glasses. Additional PPE may be required based on location and task.
Work Environment:
• Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, testing equipment, and testing fluids.
• Requires standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
• PPE as required.
• Occasional overtime as needed.
