Role: Application Security Specialist - ASX and SecDesign
Location: Iselin NJ / Charlotte NC
Fulltime Permanent role
Functional Area: ASX and SecDesign
Role Summary:
• Embed security-by-design via ASX patterns and secure design reviews.
• Streamline and automate prescription/validation of NFRs.
• Collaborate with engineering to reduce friction and improve control coverage.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create and maintain secure design blueprints and reference implementations.
• Align ASX patterns with tiered control framework; ensure adherence across applications.
• Automate NFR generation and validation in pipelines; track exceptions and risk.
• Participate in architecture reviews; propose mitigations and compensating controls.
• Contribute to dashboards on control coverage and remediation timelines.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering.
• 4+ years in secure architecture/design or AppSec engineering.
• Knowledge of common design patterns, encryption, identity, and secrets management.
• Experience integrating controls in microservices and cloud-native architectures.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with policy-as-code and admission controls.
• Certifications: CSSLP, AWS/Azure Security, or equivalent.
• Background in developer experience (DevEx) and guardrail design.
Tools & Technologies:
• Design repositories (Git, Confluence)
• Policy-as-code (OPA/Gatekeeper)
• CI/CD and testing frameworks
• Secrets and KMS (Vault, AWS KMS)
