Our Audience & Identity Science team is essential in deepening our understanding of ad-tier members to improve advertiser performance and ensure a stellar member experience. We continuously refine ad targeting capabilities through advanced machine learning, data exploration, and optimization methodologies. Our work includes segment modeling, expansion algorithms, and lookalike modeling. We also provide critical modeling and analytics support for Netflix's live content and collaborate with third-party partners, always prioritizing privacy and data security. Our primary focus is on building repeatable and scalable models for both present and future applications.
As an Analytics Engineer, you will have the chance to define, track, and report on vital metrics across all advertising audience and identity data products and machine learning models. You will manage multiple critical areas, offer valuable insights and reports to both leadership and business stakeholders, and proactively pursue impactful projects.
Responsibilities
• Independently identify and engage in research initiatives that drive significant business impact, advocating for prioritization and resource allocation.
• Conduct proactive data exploration on member and advertiser data to discover new opportunities.
• Create prototype data pipelines and collaborate with data engineers to transform new data sets into production.
• Identify, compute, and validate metrics to evaluate project success and support informed product decision-making.
• Develop key metrics, perform data audits, and create dashboards and ad hoc analyses to support production ML models.
• Deliver well-documented datasets, tools, and reports to key technical and business partners.
• Serve as a strategic thought partner to product managers and business stakeholders, influencing product direction and enhancing user experience.
• Build strong partnerships with cross-functional stakeholders from product, engineering, operations, design, consumer research, and more.
• Communicate findings and insights clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Qualifications
• Proven analytics professional with a solid background in data exploration, reporting, data visualization (using tools like Tableau, D3, etc.), and data storytelling.
• Proficiency in SQL and Python, along with familiarity with ETL and data warehousing concepts.
• Experience in monitoring production machine learning models and dealing with high-impact data sets.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to translate technical results into actionable business insights.
• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.
Our compensation structure is based solely on an annual salary, without bonuses. Each year, you can determine the proportion of your compensation that comes in salary versus stock options. Your top-market compensation is derived from various market indicators, taking into account your job family, background, skills, and experience. The salary range for this role is $100,000 - $720,000.
