Campers participate in a wide range of extra-curricular activities including sports, arts & crafts, adventure challenges, and excursions, while building confidence, independence, curiosity, and lifelong friendships. That's where you come in We're seeking enthusiastic, tech savvy AI Academy Instructors who love working with youth and are passionate about inquiry-based learning and AI as a human-centered design tool. Academy Overview The AI Academy empowers learners to move from passive users of technology to thoughtful creators who understand how artificial intelligence works, where it can be applied, and how it impacts people and communities. Through hands on projects, inquiry-driven learning, and real-world exploration, learners build technical skills, creative confidence, and ethical awareness, culminating in a final project "AI for Good Expo." Role Summary The AI Academy Instructor plans and facilitates a two-week sequence of engaging, project-based classes that integrate foundational AI literacy, beginner friendly ML tools, design thinking, responsible use, and teamwork. The instructor guides small groups to research local challenges, build simple prototypes, and present their ideas at the AI for Good Expo. Teaching Responsibilities • Deliver Engaging,ProjectBasedLessons • Plan and teach daily classes alignedwiththeTamwoodCampsAI Academycurriculum. • Break down AI conceptsintoage-appropriate activities. • Facilitatehandsonprojects, mini sprints, and design challenges. • Connect learning toplacebasedexploration (e.g., local observationsandexcursions that inspire project ideas). • Facilitatethe'AI for GoodExpo'andcoordinate pitches,feedback,and graduation/certificates. • Daily Preparation & Instructional Materials • Prepare lesson plans alignedwiththeTamwoodCampsAI Academysyllabus andlearningoutcomes. • Create slides, worksheets, and project templates; curate safe,age-appropriate AI tools and platforms. • Support set-upofrequiredstudentdevices, accounts, and demo environments; troubleshoot minor tech issues. • Student Support & Classroom Management • Supervise students during breaks and schedulednonclasstimes, as assigned. • Maintain anEnglish-onlyenvironment in the classroom. • Foster a positive, inclusive, and energetic atmosphere consistent with the spirit of summer camp. • Model responsible technologyuseandadapt content for diverse skill levels. Reporting & Administrative Duties • Attend all required staff meetings and trainingsessions. • Complete administrative tasks accurately and on time, including daily attendance,trackingproject milestones, andparticipatingin graduation ceremonies. • Report to the Head Teacher and Academic Manager (and Camp Director, asrequired). • Collaborate with the Academic Manger toarrangeone guest speaker per Academy Cohort. Desired Qualifications • Undergraduate degree or diploma in Computer Science, Education, STEM, Digital Media, or related field; equivalent experience considered. • Demonstrated experience teaching or mentoring children/teens; camps or experiential programs a strong asset. • Foundational understanding ofAI/ML concepts,generative AI tools and prompt design, andethical AI. • Confidence usingbeginnerfriendlyAItools. • Strong digital literacy (cloud tools, Chromebooks/laptops, file management). • Effectiveinterpersonal skills with the ability to solve problems, work independently, and collaborate effectively in a team. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced camp environment. • Experience withproject-basedlearning, design thinking, youth hackathons, or showcasesis anasset.
