About the position The After School Program Group Leaders at Acacia Network are responsible for providing quality academic enrichment, recreation, and youth development for students aged 5-13. This part-time role focuses on creating a safe and engaging environment for children while promoting their educational and recreational growth. The position requires effective communication with parents and faculty, as well as the ability to coordinate activities and manage program logistics. Responsibilities • Provide educational and recreational enrichment to students. • Conduct homework-help and tutoring sessions. • Ensure that all activities prioritize safety. • Provide careful and effective supervision of children's activities. • Take attendance and monitor program activities. • Promote a safe, fun, and enriching environment for students. • Coordinate activities and field trips for groups. • Create lesson plans and carry out program activities. • Set up, break down, and clean up the program area. Requirements • High School Diploma or GED required. • Bachelor's Degree preferred. • At least 1 year of previous experience working with school-aged children. • Skills in at least one area such as music, sports, science, math, art, step dance, singing, chess, or dancing. • Understanding of DOH, DYCD, and DOE regulations in an after school setting. • Effective communication skills with parents, students, and faculty. • Availability to work Monday through Friday from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
