About The Opportunity Fertilizer Canada is seeking a motivated, organized, and enthusiastic Administrative Intern to join our Administration and Public Affairs teams on a full-time 12-month contract, with the potential to grow into a longer-term career opportunity. This in-person role in our Ottawa office is well-suited to a recent graduate who is eager to gain hands-on experience, build professional skills, and contribute meaningfully to a national organization supporting Canada’s agri-food system. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer and the Manager, Member Services, the Administrative Intern is a key support role within the organization. You’ll be a go-to resource for administrative coordination, systems support, e-learning operations, and events support—working with staff across the organization. This position offers a strong foundation for an early-career professional looking to develop practical skills, learn how a national association operates, and grow within a collaborative and supportive environment. The role operates primarily during standard business hours (Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and requires flexibility, including occasional extended workdays, early mornings, or evenings. Key Responsibilities Administrative Support • Providing day-to-day administrative and operational support across teams • Support office operations, identify opportunities, and help implement solutions • Support in-office and hybrid meetings, including logistics, AV/Teams setup, document preparation, and catering coordination • Support internal systems and software used across the organization • Maintain financial control tools and develop advanced Excel models for projections and planning to support the Finance team. • Triage and respond to inquiries received through email and voicemail • Assist with staff onboarding and offboarding, including office procedures, IT, and facilities coordination • Support liaison with building management and IT service providers • Manage office supplies, inventory, mail distribution, and shipping/receiving of packages • Help maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized office environment (including staff kitchen upkeep) • Support CRM data entry and maintenance of member and stakeholder records • Assist with the preparation of member engagement reports • Contribute to support special projects and cross-departmental initiatives E-Learning (LMS) Support • Monitor and respond to member inquiries through the e-learning email inbox • Troubleshoot LMS user issues and escalate technical or content questions as required • Maintain certification templates and user guides • Assist with course content updates and user account management • Support LMS revenue-generating activities, such as graphics and advertising setup Events Support • Support the planning, promotion, and delivery of events, meetings and webinars • Assist with marketing and communications activities to increase member awareness and participation • Help develop event marketing plans • Support the creation and management of event and webinar registrations • Provide technical and on-site support during events and meetings • Prepare name badges, signage, and event materials • Support post-event surveys, including results analysis Skills and Qualifications • Recent graduate from a relevant post-secondary program • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel • Experience using Canva or similar design tools is considered an asset • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, CRM systems, event management platforms, and learning management systems (LMS) • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (French is an asset) • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time management skills • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment • Professional, service-oriented approach with strong interpersonal skills • Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to learn Why Join Fertilizer Canada? • Located in downtown Ottawa, ON, in-office work is required Monday to Thursday, with flexible work-from-home Fridays when operationally feasible • Dynamic, collaborative workplace with experienced professionals in multiple disciplines • Exposure to a wide range of functions and national-level initiatives • Opportunity to build transferable skills and professional confidence early in your career • Meaningful work that contributes to Canada’s agriculture and sustainability goals • Competitive salary • On-site gym If you are eager to learn, contribute, and grow in a fast-paced environment where your contributions matter and your skills can grow, we encourage you to apply before the closing date of January 29, 2026.
