The ideal candidate will be responsible for monitoring infrastructure, troubleshooting issues, participating in security and compliance activities, processing RMAs, and collecting & reporting logging and metrics.
Key responsibilities include ensuring security and compliance of UNIX/Linux systems, maintaining all supporting documentation for comprehensive operating system, hardware and software configuration, and monitoring primary responses for information technology related security incidents and violations.
In this role, you will work with vendors to resolve any issues encountered during the development process.
Key requirements include hands-on experience with installing new/rebuild existing systems (Physical and virtual) in accordance with standard and operational requirements, familiarity with RedHat Satellite for patching, and administration and configuration of NFS and Samba servers.
You will also perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
Additionally, you will monitor space used and space available in file systems in use, troubleshoot and configure hardware, CPU utilization and disk space utilization, user & group administration, and work with application & database teams to resolve performance issues, capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues.
A thorough understanding of principles, practices, and techniques used in administering Complex Unix/Linux environments is required.
