Coursera is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I - New Product to join a global team that builds scalable frontend solutions for Coursera's learning platform. Overview The Content Management team scales Coursera's global educational catalog content operations, focusing on lifecycle management, content metadata, and curation across the content ecosystem. The team aims to build predictive, transparent, and automated systems for sourcing, tagging, curation, launch, and lifecycle management to rapidly adapt to learner needs and maximize growth opportunities. Responsibilities • Design and implement scalable and robust frontend applications, delivering a clean, consistent, high-quality learner experience • Explore and use AI-powered coding and design tools to accelerate delivery and creativity • Measure work, analyze results, and generate hypotheses to drive product changes through A/B testing • Upgrade critical and legacy pages to improve accessibility, performance, and visual polish • Collaborate with design, business, and product stakeholders to find optimal solutions and adapt to change • Share knowledge and guide other teams in using the design system and visual standards Basic Qualifications • 5+ years of front-end engineering experience • Strong with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and React (or similar frameworks) • Experience building or working with design systems • Strong focus on web accessibility and performance Preferred Qualifications • Interest in AI-assisted development and innovating on large front-end codebases • Ability to balance long-term design thinking with quick execution • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration • Passion for performance, accessibility, and visual details Compensation The base pay range for Canada candidates is CAD 134,400 to 168,000, with actual pay dependent on factors including experience, education, transferable skills, business needs, and location.
