Job Title: Node.js Developer – Health Insurance Technology Skills: Node, AWS, JavaScript/TypeScript Location: Hybrid/NY/CA/TX • As a consultant within the CMT team, you will work with our clients to define their digital strategy and execution roadmap, and design and implement differentiated digital solutions to help deliver measurable value. Job Summary: We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Node.js Developer to join our technology team focused on transforming the health insurance experience through modern, scalable, and secure digital solutions. This role requires deep backend development expertise, strong AWS cloud experience, and hands-on knowledge of Amazon Connect for building intelligent customer engagement platforms. You will be instrumental in designing and developing backend services that support member portals, claims processing, and virtual care solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design and implement robust services using Node.js to support health insurance applications. Integrate and manage Amazon Connect for intelligent contact center solutions, including IVR flows, Lambda integrations, and real-time analytics. Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices architecture on AWS using services like Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, SQS, and SNS. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, DevOps, and front-end developers to deliver secure and scalable solutions. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare data protection standards. Optimize performance and scalability of backend systems handling high volumes of sensitive health data. Lead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and promote best practices in software engineering. Stay current with emerging technologies and trends in health tech and cloud computing. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. 5+ years of backend development experience with Node.js and JavaScript/TypeScript. Strong experience with AWS services, especially Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, S3, CloudWatch, and IAM. Hands-on experience with Amazon Connect, including contact flows, integrations, and analytics. Familiarity with healthcare data formats (HL7, FHIR) and HIPAA compliance. Experience with containerization (Docker, ECS/EKS) and CI/CD pipelines. Proficiency in working with both SQL and NoSQL databases. Strong understanding of authentication and authorization protocols (OAuth2, JWT). Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with serverless architecture and event-driven systems. Knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards and payer-provider workflows. Exposure to machine learning or analytics platforms on AWS. Contributions to open-source projects or technical publications. Soft Skills: Strong communication and collaboration skills. Ability to lead technical discussions and drive architectural decisions. Passion for improving healthcare through technology.
