Position: Hybrid Onsite – Senior Solution Architect (Google Cloud Platform / Data Platform)
Location: New York City – Must be able to work onsite (Tri-State area candidates only)
Length: 6-Month+ Contract (long-term extensions likely)
Target Pay Rate: $95.00 - $115.00 / Hourly + W2 (W2 candidates are Benefits eligible after 60 days)

About the Role
A leading strategic advisory organization is seeking an experienced Solution Architect to design and implement advanced cloud-based data platforms for their Energy & Utilities clients. This role focuses on leveraging Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to enable analytics, AI, and modernization initiatives. You’ll work closely with business and technology stakeholders to guide architecture decisions, lead migrations, and ensure compliance in a regulated environment.
This is a hands-on leadership role requiring deep technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to influence both technical and business teams.
Responsibilities
• Architect and implement scalable data and analytics platforms on GCP.
• Lead cloud migration strategies and hybrid/multi-cloud designs.
• Provide technical guidance on GCP services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Vertex AI, etc.).
• Collaborate with engineering teams and business SMEs to align solutions with regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate tradeoffs between GCP, Azure, and Databricks for optimal design.
• Mentor team members and contribute to best practices for cloud adoption.
Qualifications
• 8+ years of experience in technology architecture, with at least 3+ years focused on GCP solutions.
• Strong background in cloud data architectures, streaming/batch pipelines, and AI/ML integration.
• Hands-on experience with GCP services and security/governance frameworks.
• Familiarity with Azure and Databricks; ability to compare and integrate solutions.
• Knowledge of compliance standards for utilities (e.g., NERC CIP).
• Google Cloud Professional certification (Architect, Data Engineer, or similar).
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Nice to Have:
• Experience with regulated utilities and Databricks certifications.
