AWS Architect with Java - Chicago IL (Remote then Onsite)
Experience: Around 20 years in Java technology and 7-8 years as AWS Architect role.
Must have:
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate or Professional
• Proficiency in Java J2EE, Spring Boot
• Proficiency in Spring Cloud Stack or other microservices platforms such as Cloud Foundry
• Experience with REST web services, Spring, JPA/Hibernate/IBATIS, any cache framework, MQ framework
• Experience in DynamoDB, Glue, Kinesis, Athena, Lambda, Cognito, IAM, VPC, Cloud Formation, ECS, Faregate, etc.
• Experience with any two estimation methods (MVCP, UCP, FP, COCOMO, WBS, etc.)
• Experience with any two databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, Cassandra, etc.)
• Familiar with DevOps implementation
• Ability to recommend multiple end-to-end solutions with pros and cons for each aspect
• Experience and knowledge in architectural and design patterns
• Innovative and curious to learn and understand new/latest technologies
• Able to work in a team and take ownership of tasks
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; must have played customer‑facing roles
• Worked on large RFI/RFP and proposals, customer workshops
• Worked on transformation projects, platform development, and projects involving integration with large enterprise systems
Good to have:
• Experience in any frontend technology like Angular, React, PHP, etc.
• Experience with any one of these frameworks: Apache Camel, RedHat Fuse, Alfresco, JBPM/Activiti, DROOLS
• Experience with DevOps tools such as AWS DevOps tools, Jenkins, Bamboo, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible, etc.
• Good knowledge and experience on AWS services such as AWS Data Lake, RedShift, S3, etc.
Responsibilities:
• Preparing and owning High‑Level Design and architecture for the project
• Pre‑sales support – technical solution & estimation
• Customer‑facing and excellent communication
• Imparting technology training to team members, conducting technical trainings
• Executing POCs/POTs, exploring new technology
• Writing whitepapers
• Technology consulting to project teams – guide Java leads and developers technically
• Working in COE/Practice, building offerings, solutions, creating practice roadmap in terms of technology and resources
• Conducting technical interviews
