We are seeking a Data Engineering Lead with strong data visualization acumen, excellent communication skills, and the ability to present insights and strategy to executive leadership. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can design and guide data solutions, oversee ETL/ELT processes, and articulate business impact through clear, compelling data narratives.
Responsibilities
• Lead data engineering and BI initiatives, providing technical direction and mentoring team members.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and data models to support analytics, reporting, and executive decision-making.
• Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using SSIS, Talend, Pentaho, or similar tools.
• Design data warehousing and integration solutions aligned with business strategy.
• Translate complex data into clear visualizations and insights for executive meetings.
• Communicate recommendations, risks, opportunities, and data strategy to senior leadership.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define data requirements and ensure high-quality, scalable solutions.
• Work across hybrid cloud environments, including Azure, AWS, and on-prem systems.
• Ensure best practices in data governance, pipeline optimization, and performance tuning.
Requirements
• Proven experience in a lead data engineering/BI role.
• Strong SQL expertise, including advanced query writing, optimization, and logical problem-solving.
• Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT strategies, and data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with SSIS or similar ETL tools (Talend, Pentaho, etc.).
• Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to discuss data insights and strategic direction with executives.
• Solid understanding of data visualization best practices (Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools).
• Experience with cloud platforms—Azure preferred; AWS exposure a plus.
• Ability to work across diverse data sources and hybrid environments (on-prem, cloud, mixed).
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
