Job Title: GCP Data Engineering Operations Lead Job ID: 2803337 Position Type: Full-time Location: Chicago, Illinois (onsite) Role/Responsibilities The GCP Data Engineering Operations Lead is responsible for overseeing the operational management of data engineering solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This role ensures the reliability, scalability, and performance of data pipelines and infrastructure, while leading a team of engineers to deliver high-quality data solutions that support analytics, machine learning, and business intelligence initiatives. Responsibilities • Lead and mentor a team of data engineers in maintaining / Enhancing data pipelines and Platform. • Align / Enhance operational standards, best practices, and governance for GCP-based data solution Operations. • Collaborate with stakeholders to align data engineering operations with business objectives. • Implement data quality checks, validation frameworks, and monitoring tools. • Continuously optimize data processing systems for cost efficiency and scalability. • Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve throughput and latency. Experience: • 12+ years in data engineering, with at least 3 years in an Operations leadership role. • Proven expertise in Google Cloud Platform services (Big Query, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage). Technical Skills: • Strong knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing, and data modeling. • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and frameworks, Data Governance, Power BI. • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Terraform, and Infrastructure as Code. Soft Skills (Mandatory) • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. • Strong communication and leadership skills. Compensation and Benefits A candidate’s pay within the range will depend on their work location, skills, experience, education, and other factors permitted by law.
