A world leading trading firm headquartered in New York City, are looking for an HPC Linux Engineer to help drive performance, reliability, and scale across the trading systems. Role Overview As an HPC Linux Engineer, you will join the core engineering team responsible for designing, optimising, and supporting the high-performance compute clusters that power the trading strategies. You'll work closely with developers, quants, and other infrastructure teams to ensure the compute environment is robust, low-latency, and built to scale. Responsibilities • Architect, deploy, and maintain HPC clusters, including resource managers (e.g., Slurm, PBS, LSF) • Optimise Linux systems for low latency, high throughput, and high availability • Tune kernel parameters, filesystems, networking, and storage for demanding workloads • Automate system provisioning and configuration management (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Terraform) • Monitor and troubleshoot performance issues in large-scale compute environments • Collaborate with application teams to support distributed computing workflows • Ensure security, patching, and compliance across HPC and infrastructure systems Qualifications • Expert-level Linux systems engineering experience, preferably in HPC environments • Strong background with performance tuning, networking (TCP/IP, RDMA), and kernel internals • Deep understanding of scheduling systems and parallel compute workloads • Proficiency in scripting and automation (Python) • Familiarity with storage systems • Experience in low-latency or time-sensitive environments is a strong plus • Excellent communication and collaboration skills • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
