A well funded AI unicorn is launching a new healthcare BU focused on agentic AI for automating patient scheduling, intake, and communications for hospitals and health systems. You'll join a small, high-caliber engineering team (currently <10) as the first dedicated full stack hire, helping define both the product and the technical architecture for AI-powered workflows that actually move operational and financial metrics.
You will operate like a founding engineer: working across JavaScript/React/TypeScript on the frontend and a Python-centric backend to design and ship user-facing features, internal tools, and APIs that make complex healthcare workflows feel simple. This is a highly hands-on role where you’ll work directly with clients, iterate quickly on UX, and make foundational decisions around data models, service design, and system scalability in an environment that constantly deploys to production.
You are a fit if you bring startup experience, exceptional programming skills, and a genuine passion for building an intuitive, high-quality UX. You come from a tier 1 STEM program and bring 8+ years of experience in rigorous engineering environments. Healthcare experience is not required but is a plus; what matters most is that you care about product quality, can balance speed with rigor, and want to help build a category-defining healthcare platform from 0 to 1.
