What You’ll Do
• Lead and mentor a multidisciplinary team of Machine Learning Engineers and Data Scientists, fostering growth, accountability, and innovation.
• Define technical strategy and partner closely with product leaders to translate business goals into scalable engineering solutions.
• Oversee the delivery of high-performance search and recommendation features that improve relevance, speed, and reliability for end users.
• Guide architectural decisions with an emphasis on security, scalability, uptime, and future readiness.
• Drive adoption of best practices in ML, software development, and DevOps, ensuring systems evolve with changing business and user needs.
• Influence engineering culture by shaping career development frameworks, mentoring programs, and cross-team initiatives that promote inclusivity and collaboration.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, product, and design to balance experimentation with execution, and ensure alignment on priorities.
• Leverage GenAI and emerging technologies to push the boundaries of what is possible in real-time search and discovery experiences.
What You Bring
• Proven experience leading engineering teams focused on consumer-facing products, with a strong emphasis on search, data, and ML-driven applications.
• Hands-on background in delivering large-scale software systems or data infrastructure, either as an individual contributor or manager.
• Deep understanding of software development methodologies, including those tailored for Machine Learning and Data Science initiatives.
• Track record of shipping impactful features to external customers in high-scale environments.
• Experience with cloud-native architectures and microservices, particularly in AWS or other large-scale environments.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to build consensus across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Entrepreneurial mindset, bias toward action, and ability to navigate ambiguity.

Compensation
We are committed to equitable compensation practices. The base salary range for this position is $230,000 – $345,000 USD, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. Additional variable pay and equity opportunities may be included as part of the total compensation package.
