Senior DevOps Engineer (Contract – SC & NPPV3 Cleared)
6-month engagement | Inside IR35 | Remote-first (occasional on-site meetings)
A large public-sector–focused technology programme is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support the next phase of its delivery project. The environment is fast-paced, highly secure, and built around modern cloud-native tooling. You’ll join a small engineering squad responsible for ensuring the platform is scalable, reliable, and fully compliant with security standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, build and maintain cloud infrastructure within a highly secure environment
• Enhance and support Kubernetes-based container platforms
• Contribute to the delivery and automation of CI/CD pipelines
• Implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and security teams to drive best practices
• Support incident response, troubleshooting and continuous improvements
• Ensure all work aligns with strict public-sector security and compliance requirements
Core Technical Requirements
• Strong production experience across:
• AWS (core services, networking, security)
• Kubernetes (deployment, operations, optimisation)
• Terraform (IaC, modular design, state management)
• CI/CD tooling (e.g. GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab or similar)
• Solid understanding of cloud security, automation and observability
• Ability to operate autonomously within a cleared and highly regulated environment
