**Azure Systems Administrator**
• *Background**
Total Systems on behalf of BC Pensions Corporation in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada is seeking one (1) experienced **Azure Specialist (System Administrator). **The Azure expertise and experience required is in **designing, implementing, migrating to, operating, and administering Azure services.** Having experience with designing, implementing, operating, administering, and supporting M365 (Office, SharePoint, Teams, Exchange, Power Platform, etc.) based solutions would be an asset. The specialist will be required to work full time for the duration of the contract**. **Duties **will be performed remotely.**
• *Anticipated start date and Duration**: As soon as possible. The contract will be commencing from the date of the contract signing with one (1) option to extend a further one (1) year.
• *Service Requirement**
BC Pension Corporation has embarked on multi-year initiatives to modernize its IT services and systems by migrating to cloud technologies. The first phase was focused on implementing Office 365; including the MS Office suite, Exchange, AD Integration and Teams. The current phase is modernizing and migrating workloads from on-premises deployments to Azure and operating the new solutions in a hybrid environment (on-premises and cloud).
The Azure Specialist will be part of the IT Service Operations Branch and will play an instrumental role in the operation and administration of Azure services as part of the IT Hybrid Infrastructure team. Moreover, the Azure Specialist will participate in projects, lead and provide support to the project team, and work collaboratively with various functional groups (PM, EA, Business Services, Release Management, QA, IT & Ops) throughout the lifecycle of projects to ensure needs are met.
The Azure Specialist will:
- Perform day to day Azure operational and system administration duties
- Be responsible for the coordination and facilitation of system change implementation and maintenance of system currency as new Azure services/solutions are developed and deployed
- Provide technical leadership and take responsibility for planning activities leading to the design and implementation of Azure / IT Infrastructure solutions
- Work directly with project teams (Project Managers, Enterprise Architects, Hybrid Infrastructure & Ops, Solution Engineers, Business Systems Analysts, Developers, etc.) to understand business requirements, evaluate technologies, recommend solutions and integration options, and plan for Azure / IT Infrastructure solutions implementation that meet the business needs
• *Mandatory Skills**
Minimum of 5 years of experience performing Azure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) operational and administrative duties.

Minimum of 5 years of experience performing Azure (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) operational and administrative duties. Includes:
- Enrollment (tenancy)
- Azure AD, on-premise AD and AD Connect
- RBAC
- Landing Zones (Management groups, subscriptions, resource groups, Azure Policies)
- Policies
- Configuration and deployment of resources (VMs, key vault, storage accounts, etc.).
- Network setup for internal and external connectivity to the Azure environment (i.e. VPN-VPN, ExpressRoute, Azure Virtual WAN, VNETs, SNets, NSGs, Azure Firewall, Secure VHUB, Application Gateway with WAF, etc.)
- Experience troubleshooting Azure Networking (Firewall, ExpressRoute, VNET, NSGs, etc.)
- Compute/Storage/Backup configurations
- Azure Monitor
- Azure Migrate Server Appliance
- Azure StackEdge device setup and configuration
- Azure Data Factory configurations using Self-Hosted Integration Runtime services
- Azure Security setup (including Defender for Cloud
- Experience troubleshooting Azure deployments
- Experience with IAC (Teraform, Github) scripting of Azure resources
Minimum of three years of experience in architecting, designing, and implementing Azure solutions within a complex enterprise environment with multiple functional departments and stakeholders. Includes:
- IAM
- Network Topology
- Compute/Storage configurations/patterns
- Resource Organization
- Governance
- Naming and tagging strategies
- Server and Application Deployment strategies
- Operational processes
Business Continuity Plans / Disaster Recovery configurations
- Windows and Linux VM migration to Azure
- Physical servers migrated (P2V) to Azure VMs
- Migrating servers to StackEdge devices
Desired asset: Experience with designing, implementing, operating, administering, and supporting M365 (Office, SharePoint, Teams, Exchange, Power Platform, etc.) based solutions within a complex enterprise environment.
