We are currently responsible for lots of topics including but not limited to devops, build system, build experience, vehicle communication, vehicle diagnostics, vehicle communication visualizers and more. We write lots of tools, we have our own IDLs we support, we also write embedded code for use in the ECUs. Primarily writing code in rust, python and c. What you'll gain: • Hands-on ownership of production-grade tooling used by hundreds of Ford engineers • Mentorship from industry experts in Tools, DevOps, and large-scale software delivery What you'll do... • Design and implement new tooling features that speed up developer workflows • Add automated unit, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop tests to raise code quality • Profile, benchmark, and refactor existing Rust/Python/C components for performance and readability • Document usage examples and write concise “How-to” guides for internal partner You'll have... • Proficiency in Python and basic software engineering principles (version control, testing, code review) • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or related field Even better, you may have... • Prior coursework or projects in C or Rust • Exposure to embedded development, CAN/LIN/FlexRay protocols, or vehicle diagnostics • Familiarity with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or other CI/CD system You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
